Week one: write

Choose one routine email, outline, or checklist. Use the same basic request three times. Record what context improves the result and which edits you repeat.

Week two: summarize

Use public or approved source material. Ask for the main point, evidence, unanswered questions, and items to verify. Compare the summary with the original.

Week three: compare options

Ask AI to organize options around the things that matter to you. Do not ask it to make the decision. Notice which trade-offs require experience, values, or relationship knowledge.

Week four: keep one method

Choose the task that produced the clearest benefit. Write down the safe input, reusable request, review checklist, and condition that tells you to skip AI. A small routine you trust is better than a folder of instructions you do not use.

Try it yourself

Keep a simple learning log

Record this in your own private notes after each attempt. This is bookkeeping for you, not text to paste into AI.

  1. Write the task and date.
  2. Record minutes for preparation, asking AI, checking, fixing, and copying.
  3. Write down errors, edits, and anything you could not verify.
  4. Choose keep, change, or stop for the next attempt.

You have finished when you can check these points

  • Are you measuring cleanup time as well as writing time?
  • Which errors repeat across attempts?
  • Which single method deserves to stay?

Keep these points

  • Practise in short sessions on familiar work.
  • Track errors and cleanup, not only speed.
  • Keep one repeatable method at the end of the month.
